WELCOME TO FEDERATED GARDENS CLUBS OF NEBRASKA, INC (FGCN)
We position ourselves as a green volunteer organization, and our aim is to infuse an awareness and fondness for gardening and environmental stewardship in people across Nebraska.
At FCGN, we welcome beginners and seasoned horticulturists alike in the world of gardening. Our goal is to foster love for community gardening.
We have members joining us from all over, including local clubs and districts, and even national forums. This level of participation is a result of handing them the tools and networking methods that support efforts.
Be it agriculture, environmental sustainability, ornamental gardening or pollinator protection, we aid your efforts in creating a greener Nebraska. With that being our focus, we offer $1000 scholarship to students pursuing degrees in horticulture, agriculture or environmental sciences. Also, our scholarship recipients can receive a $4000 national award through the National Garden Clubs, Inc. This eligibility expresses our support for the next generation of environmental proponents.
Arbor Day perhaps has more significance when it comes to Nebraska. That’s because it all began here in 1872, and since then, it has evolved. Now celebrated across the nation, Arbor Day is dedicated to tree conservation across our communities.
We’re all aware that trees, besides providing gorgeous scenery, are a matter of our survival with a multitude of ecosystems. And so, we at FCGN, express our commitment to maintaining Arbor Day as a core tradition.
At FGCN, also believes in honoring our military personnel who have protected and served this nation, dedicating their lives to our freedom. We pay our tribute to these brave men and women with ‘Blue Star’ and Gold Star Memorial markers visible along Nebraska highways.
Become a member, starting at $10 per head. For couples and families, there is a discounted price of $11.50. It’s noteworthy to mention that these rates may fluctuate based on future charges applied by local clubs.
We’re on a mission to establish a broad-based network that aids environmental sustainability and education and contributed toward a greener community.
Are you ready to commit to a greener future?
